North America and the Middle East & North Africa have the largest Jewish populations, meanwhile Europe and other regions host smaller communities. The United States and Israel are home to the majority of the world’s Jewish population, This is because of what happened during and after the Second World War. After World War ii, the global Jewish population changed dramatically. Europe, once the main center of Jewish life, saw a sharp decline due to the Holocaust. In the decades that followed, large-scale migration reshaped the map, with many Jews moving to North America and, after 1948, to Israel. The patterns we see today are the result of those historical shifts and their long-term impact.
