This map highlights the original homelands of displaced Greeks and the settlements they founded in Greece. It does not depict all settlements where Greeks lived before the population exchange but only those whose names were carried over to Greece and preserved with the prefix ‘New’ (Nea, Neo, Neos, Nees, Neoi). Large dots denote multiple locations founded in Greece with the name of the settlement, while triangles denote names of regions.
