geo.universe:
In just over a decade, France’s fertility rate has dropped from 1.99 to 1.64 children per woman. That’s a significant shift — with 150,000 fewer births in 2023 compared to 2012.
🗺 The maps show how regional fertility rates have changed, with more areas now falling below the replacement level of 2.1.
👶 Breakdown by origin in 2023:
• Native-born: 1.48 ( 74.4% of all births)
• EU-born: 1.79 ( 2.6% of all births)
• Non-EU-born: 2.75 ( 22.9% of all births)
