Where in Europe do the happiest people live?

When it comes to happiness, the Finns seem to be second to none. For the eighth time in a row, the country is at the top of the global happiness rankings.

As in the previous year, three more northern countries—Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden—follow closely behind.

The World Happiness Report is published annually by an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford on World Happiness Day on 20 March.

The index provides insights into the happiness and perceived quality of life of people around the world. The assessment takes into account very different factors such as a country's economic performance, health, the feeling of freedom, people's generosity and the perception of corruption.
