Public holidays vary a lot depending on culture, religion, and national history.

Europe mostly stays in the mid-range, with many countries sitting around 8 to 12 holidays a year. But once you look toward Asia, the numbers jump fast. India, Iran, Bangladesh, Nepal and Thailand all rank high, with Nepal leading globally at around 35 minimum national holidays.

South America also has several countries on the higher end, like Argentina and Colombia, while places like the US and Canada stay pretty low with just 6 to 10 days.
