Countries with active volcanoes

From the Pacific Ring of Fire to East Africa’s Rift Valley, volcanoes are more active than you might think. The U.S. tops the chart with 165 active volcanoes, thanks to Alaska and Hawaii. Indonesia (107), Japan (120), and Russia (115) follow closely, all sitting on tectonic hotspots. Many of these are part of the Ring of Fire, home to famous names like Mount Fuji, Mount St. Helens, and Krakatoa.
